Tashima Mathis is a self-taught Pop Artist born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. She graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and resides in Miami, FL.
Her passion for art is serious and took over her life, and in July of 2020, Mathis created Bombshell Pop Art as a way to share her art with the world. She has a signature style of using explosive colors to create unique portraits based on popular culture and uses her art to share meaningful messages in creative ways.
Biggest Accomplishments:
- Dess Dior Commission (Dec. 2020): Dess Dior commissioned two paintings that were gifted to award-winning artist Future for Christmas.
- PauTips x Luxie Beauty Launch Event (Sept. 2021): PauTips x Luxie Beauty Brand Makeup Launch Event for Hispanic Heritage Month / Latin Grammys at the Faena Hotel in Miami Beach. Created a portrait of PauTips for display at the event.
- Out of Pocket Gallery (Oct. 2021 - Cont.): Collaboration with Out of Pocket gallery in the art district of Miami, FL. Artwork on display and for sale in the art district.
- Pretty Little Thing x Art Basel (Dec. 2021): Pretty Little Thing x Womanish Experience for Art Basel 2021 Women Empowerment Exhibit. One out of two live painters on exhibit during the event.
- Young Musicians Unite, YMU (April 2022): Collaboration with Non Profit, Young Musicians Unite, who provides free music education to the students of Miami Dade County. Tashima’s artwork was used for posters in schools across Miami Dade County and The North Beach Bandshell on behalf of YMU . T Shirts were also created with the artwork that are going to be sold at over 100 events throughout 2022 - 2023 and all profits will go towards free music education in Miami Dade County.
